Wow! I knew it was a good summer but these stats really put it into perspective. If we get high temps in September will these change or go towards Autumn statistics?

Go towards Autumn, these are specifically comprised of June-July-August. However, I can include Spring if you like.

According to Trevor Harley, 113.7 hours at Morecambe Bay in Lancashire from 29th June to 5th July 2018 was a new weekly sunshine record for the UK beating 105.4 hours at Colwyn Bay, Wales from 2nd to 8th June 1940.

He also said 107.4 hours at Dublin Airport from 28th June to 4th July 2018 was a new weekly sunshine record for Ireland though doesn't give a previous record. Interesting facts, how accurate though I wonder.

Whilst June-August (Summer) for CET in 2018 wasn't a record breaker, the April-August CET in 2018 was a record breaker. Top 3 warmest such periods on record.

1. 2018 - 15.0c
2. 1976 - 14.7c
3. 2003 - 14.7c

There's so many joint highest for 14.6c such as 1798 (mhmmmmm), 1826 and 1947.

    • We'll be conducting updates to our Snow Watch advisory over the next few weeks. We'll post them here once ready and we'd appreciate if you can provide feedback as to how helpful you may find these updates.  Here's a sneak peak at what we'll be adding in the next week...
    • Hi @Brent, so sorry nobody got back to you sooner.  I guess it would be appropriate to talk about Monday into Tuesday now. Early hours of Tuesday look to be your best chance, as the main rain band passes. Otherwise showers could catch you which maybe wintry. You probably have the best chance than most but showers and even within the main front will be hit and miss.  An easterly air flow would be most peoples best bet.
